Side and height adjustable, light guide sight for all versions of the Sa vz 58.

At the beginning of this development, we definitely didn't think about how many difficult tasks needed to be solved to make it all work.

We solved several tasks, one of them was to refine the settings from classic multiples of hundreds of meters and remove the incorporated ballistic trajectory of the vz.43 cartridge without adjusting the strange ripple on the rear sight bridge.

That ripple copies the path of the bullet at certain shooting distances, and you cannot go with the basic shooting plane below 100 meters, without adjusting the height of the front sight, without throwing off the entire ballistic curve when moving by multiples of a hundred meters.

Another task that had to be solved was the lateral movement of the rear sight so that the user would be able to place the front sight roughly in the middle of the front sight nut and adjust the lateral deviations of the SBZ.

For those who do not know what it is, I will give the following example.

A number of Sa vz.58 specimens already have some lateral deviation on the front sight from production and shooting, when a compensator is added to this, there is an even greater shift of the middle point of impact /SBZ/ for a right-handed shooter, usually up to the right.

In the case mentioned above, the front sight needs to be unscrewed a lot, which would not be a problem, but its maximum displacement to the right is a problem, when it often happens that the weapon is no longer able to shoot at fixed sights due to the maximum lateral displacement of the front sight, with the front sight it is no longer possible to sides to move.

Both tasks were solved with a pistol-sized sight plate with lateral correction. You can use the side-adjustable rear sight wherever you want to have precise, sharp sights and where you have problems with the front sight moving due to the use of a compensator.

In the case of this sight, which has sporting parameters, you can set the front sight screwed into the front sight nut on your weapon to the center of the front sight carrier and fine-tune laterally by sliding the sight.

The advantage is easy handling on the shooting range, better tuning of sights for specific distances.

The zero basic position corresponds to a distance of 100 meters when replacing the original sight, but thanks to the possibility of height adjustment of the front sight, you can reach even below this limit.

The combination of the original front sight with the new sight creates a fun and practical combination for your weapon. From my point of view, freedom was given to the sights from well-established and not always sufficient standards, given precisely by the types of ammunition used in the army for this weapon.

Specifications

Weight 30 grams, material steel, hardened, black finish and laser markings.

The screw of the lateral movement of the sight plate is located on the right in the direction of fire. Light-conducting fiber diameter 1 mm, manufacturer Truglo, fiber length 10 mm. Brightness and sharpness are excellent even in low light.

The sight can be used for sport shooting.

The length of sight for weapons with a barrel length of 390 mm is 355 mm.

One click on the height of this sight is 0.05 mm, which with a sight length of 355 mm and if I calculated correctly is about 14 mm at 100 meters, which is more than enough with the accuracy of the weapon in the range of 8-14 cm at 100 m.

/For the sake of interest, if you unscrew the front sight by one thread, that is 0.5 mm, the SBZ will change by 140 mm!/

When shooting at 300 m, one click is 4.2 cm, which means roughly 0.5 MOA /more precisely 0.481 MOA/. One crank at lateral movement is 0.0833 mm, which with a sight length of 355 mm is approx. 23.5 mm at 100 meters per crank.

Again with accuracy in the 8-14cm range it is 0.8 MOA.

Another reason for the greater rebound of the side crank was the use of compensators.
